Trail tips

  • This is a serious hike in tropical heat. Bring water, snacks, and sturdy shoes.
  • Guided hikes may leave from the Visitor Center in Cruz Bay and can include a boat ride back.
  • There is no reliable parking at the trailhead or Visitor Center for this hike.
  • Do not plan to park at Mongoose Junction for the day.
  • Paid parking is available at the fenced car ferry lot near the roundabout, past Tap & Still.
Bring water, sun protection, and shoes with grip. Avoid starting exposed hikes late in the day, and leave enough daylight to return safely.
