What makes it special
Waterlemon Cay and Leinster Bay are better thought of as a snorkeling adventure than a simple beach stop. You walk the Leinster Bay Trail and then swim out to the cay when conditions are safe.
🌊 Swim Safety
- Strong currents are common, especially on the east side of the cay.
- Currents usually move from east to west due to the Sir Francis Drake Channel.
- Swim counterclockwise around the cay to work with the current.
- Always assess conditions before entering the water.

Best conditions
Best on calm days with low wind and good visibility. Avoid when winds or currents make the swim questionable.
Helpful tips
