Hawksnest

Hawksnest is a local favorite because it is close to Cruz Bay, easy to reach, and gives you a classic St. John beach day without making the drive too long. It has reef patches near shore and a more intimate feel than the larger beaches.

Best when winds are light to moderate from the east, northeast, south, southeast, or southwest. It can also be a solid choice when South Shore winds make the North Shore calmer.

• Arrive early for easier parking.
• Good first beach stop after picking up a Jeep.
• Reef patches can be good for snorkeling when the water is settled.
